DESERT STAR HELIKITE AEROSTAT

The Desert Star Helikite Aerostat is designed for rough or sand-blown conditions. The helium holding polyurethane ballon is completely contained within a protective shell made from tough lightweight, maximum strength "Ultra" material, which prevents the ballon from most expected abrasion or knocks.

The protective outer shell allows the balloon to be inflated to a much higher preasure than normal which allows steady flight in winds to gale force. Also the inner balloon can be removed and replaced within a few minutes (in the field if required) even when fully inflated.

Other features include a solid payload attachment system, easy and safe ground handling and all-weather deployment from land, boat or vehicle.

Helikites are very robust compared to other aerostats, but the Desert Star is the toughest Helikite ever made. Here is shown the British Army 34cu metre version lifting a camera system; however many other sizes are available, capable of lifting a wide range of payloads up to altitudes of 3000 metres.
